I have read a fair amount of Pocono Record articles and for the most part they’re decent and kinda article next door content but what never ceases to amaze me is the fact that in this day and age they still have spelling mistakes. Anyone who’s ever read or edited my work knows that punctuation is not my forte but I usually take the time out to run a spell check on my work.
The article in question is the story involving a bus fire on a Greyhound operated coach.” Bus fire on I-80 in Delaware Water Gap may be due to faulty breaks” is the title for the article. This title tells me, inadequate staff rest resulted in a bus fire. You mean to tell me that noone gave this article even a casual glance before it went live. For quite some time my “day job” had me being resposible for responding to bus emergencies. I know that unless a driver fell asleep and hit something, the accident was never due to faulty breaks. The coach not being able to stop and hitting something because of faulty brakes I can believe, but a lack of coffee and snack bar, no.
You may think I’m nit picking but a company that’s charging top dollar to read it’s online content should at leave have the decency to run a spell check before making an article live.
